Demo gegen Gewalt an Frauen*

Wir gehen am Dienstag, 25. November, gegen Gewalt an Frauen* und LGBTQIA+-Personen auf die Straße. Euch erwarten tolle Reden von tollen Initiativen wie @stop_linz, die sich gegen Partnergewalt einsetzt, und @catcallsoflinz, die sexuelle Belästigung in der Öffentlichkeit sichtbar macht.
Beginn ist um 16.30 Uhr auf dem Martin-Luther-Platz mit einer Kundgebung. Danach begibt sich der Demozug gemeinsam zum Hauptplatz für den zweiten Teil.
Zeigen wir, dass Gewalt an Mädchen* und Frauen* viele Gesichter hat und wir in ganz unterschiedlichen Bereichen dagegen kämpfen müssen. Laut Statistik Austria ist jedes dritte Mädchen* und jede dritte Frau* ab 15 Jahren mindestens einmal in ihrem Leben von körperlicher und/oder sexueller Gewalt betroffen. Dennoch bleibt Gewalt oft unsichtbar oder wird als Problem bestimmter Gruppen abgetan. Erheben wir unsere Stimme – auch für jene, die es nicht (mehr) können – und fordern die politischen Verantwortlichen zu mehr Prävention und Gewaltschutz auf.

for the Elimination of Violence against Women

Demonstration against violence against women*
On Tuesday, 25 November, we will take to the streets to protest against violence against women* and LGBTQIA+ individuals. You can look forward to great speeches from great initiatives such as @stop_linz, which campaigns against domestic violence, and @catcallsoflinz, which raises awareness of sexual harassment in public.
The event will begin at 4.30 p.m. with a rally at Martin-Luther-Platz. Afterwards, the demonstration will move to the main square for the second part.
Let’s show that violence against girls* and women* has many faces and that we must fight against it in many different areas. According to Statistics Austria, one in three girls* and one in three women* aged 15 and over has been affected by physical and/or sexual violence at least once in their lives. Nevertheless, violence often remains invisible or is dismissed as a problem affecting certain groups. Let’s raise our voices – also for those who can no longer do so – and call on political leaders to do more to prevent violence and protect victims.
